Persistent Punishments and an Erosion of Civil Rights
October 17, 2011Job Opening: Administrative Help
November 9, 2011Arseh Sevom is launching a new project: the Civil Society Cookbook. We are talking to civil society actors from around the world to learn more about what makes them successful, how they approach challenges, and the obstacles faced along the way. Some of the lessons we are learning include:
- A director of a media organization says the most important thing he learned was to focus and shares advice on how to find that focus.
- A South African activist tells us how to build second-tier leadership.
- A neighborhood organizer in the Netherlands discusses bringing diverse groups together.
- A human rights activist discusses advocacy.
- An AIDS awareness activist discusses reaching out to hostile communities.
We would like to hear from you too. You can fill out our questionnaire or contact us and make an appointment for an interview.
We plan to publish the cookbook in English and Persian.
