Mohammad Hasan Sadeghi Moghaddam entered Shiraz University in 1976 to study physics. After one year he transferred to the University of Tehran to study Judicial Rights. Upon receiving his undergraduate degree in 1985, he attended graduate school at Tarbiyat-i-Modares University. In 1994, he earned his doctorate in private law.
When the universities were closed during the cultural revolution, Sadeghi Moghaddam became one of the 180 people selected for a training period in the justice department based on the recommendation of Ayatollah Beheshti. This boosted his career opportunities. Sadeghi Moghaddam worked as an investigator/interrogator under the coordination of Asadullah Lajavardi.
Between 1986 to 1988 Sadeghi Moghaddam assisted Ebrahim Raisi, the former revolutionary deputy investigator of Tehran. This experience was key for future collaborations. In 2002, Ebrahim Raisi became the deputy of the national inspectorate and Sadeghi Moqaddam also joined his team and became the vice-president of the organization.
Before his selection as a member of the Guardian Council in 2019, Sadeghi Moghaddam was coordinating the Election Monitoring Board. In 2014, he was working as the supreme advisor of Ahamd Jannati the Secretary of the Guardian Council and became a member of the legal-advisory assembly of the Guardian Council.
During the Presidential Elections of 2018, he was the head of Tehran Province Election Monitoring.
In 2019 Sadeghi Moghaddam was recommended for membership in the Guardian Council.
